I was really sick last week and found myself lying down in my apartment, unable to gather enough energy to go outside. This week I've finally started to feel better, but am realizing that the slower I take it, the more energy I conserve and the longer I can last throughout the day. Who knew (insert sarcasm)?Taking it slow has especially been eye opening for me during my walks to and from work. My walking route takes me through a beautiful park downtown and usually I'm itching to get to the subway as quickly as I can to get to wherever it is I'm going. But this week I'm taking my time and noticing details that I've always been too busy to truly see. Flowers. Sunlight scattering through the leaves. People's faces.
And I realized that I need to stop hurrying to the next place, checking my iPhone for the next piece of information, and just stop . take a breathe . and look around.
Because the place where you are . right now . is beautiful.
